- Seafarers: Full name, contact details, identity document scans (passport/ID), maritime certificates (COC), and relevant medical records.
- Companies & owners: Registered company name, national ID, executive contact details, and vessel ownership documents.
B) Operational & system data
- Vessel coordinates and location (via AIS when connected).
- Cargo details (type, weight, origin, destination) for the freight marketplace.
- Device information (IP, browser type) solely to prevent cyber intrusion and DDoS attacks.

Searino never uses your data for unrelated purposes. Collected information is used exclusively for:
- Facilitating connections: Linking cargo owners with ship owners, employers with seafarers, and owners with repair contractors.
- Verification: Validating uploaded documents to maintain a fraud-free business environment.
- Improving algorithms: Using aggregated (anonymous) data to improve freight rate suggestions, job matching, and repair request matching.

We manage infrastructure for a critical industry and understand the value of data:
- All communication between your device and Searino servers is encrypted via SSL/TLS with banking-grade 256-bit standards.
- Your password is stored as a hash in the database — even system administrators cannot view your password.
- Sensitive documents (passport scans, vessel papers) are stored on isolated, protected cloud servers.
